Citigroup Aims to Hire 900 Employees

In a bid to expand its business, the commercial banking unit of Citibank is planning to hire 900 employees to accelerate the growth process. The United States based bank said it is looking to mark its presence in the new emerging markets along with unveiling new products and expansion of its digital services. Citibank informed most of these hiring will be done in regions where the growth rate of the business is rising particularly the United States, China, Brazil, India, and countries in Western Europe. Currently, the Citibank operates in 60 countries and lends money to mid size companies. Jane Fraser, who was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the Bank last year is taking effective actions to increase the profitability of the Bank. However, in a completely different statement On Tuesday, Citibank said that to accelerate its growth in the Asia Pacific region it will hire around 350 people that will include around 200 commercial bankers. The Bank said that most of these employees will be placed in China, Hong Kong, India, and Singapore. Around 41% of Citibank’s revenue comes from the Asia Pacific region.
