On Monday, Bus Tracking App Chalo has acquired its competitor, Vogo for an undisclosed amount. About five months ago it acquired  Amazon-backed app-based office shuttle service Shuttl. Vogo is a tech-enabled shared mobility startup. Chalo has been on an aggressive acquisition spree in order to expand its business dimensions. Chalo stated that Vogo will further enhance its bus technology services by boosting first and last-mile rides at major bus stops and other public places. Vogo was founded by Anand Ayyadurai, Padmanabhan Balakrishnan, and Sanchit Mittal in the year 2016 with the aim to provide scooter rental services to commuters. After the acquisition, Vinayak Bhavani, cofounder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Chalo said: “This acquisition offers Chalo key strategic gains. Now we will be able to offer a convenient and cost-effective option for bus passengers to travel to and from bus stops, solving the door-to-door daily commute. This will increase bus ridership and serve our core purpose of making travel more convenient and reliable for all.” Vogo, till now has raised nearly $180 million from investors such as Matrix Partners India, Kalaari Capital, and Lightrock. A few months ago, the bus tracking app raised  $40 million in a fundraising round which was led by Lightrock India and Filter Capital.
