The government has approved the construction of 10 Nuclear Power Reactors at a cost of Rs 1.05 lakh crore by 2031, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday. The administration does not plan to cease using Nuclear Energy In the Future.

In Kaiga in Karnataka, Gorakhpur in Haryana, and Chutka in Madhya Pradesh, two 700 MW reactors each are being constructed. In Mahi Banswara in Rajasthan, four nuclear reactors would be constructed, according to Singh.

The minister stated, "These reactors are planned to be brought up in 'fleet mode' gradually by the year 2031 at a cost of Rs. 1,05,000 crore.

In order to allow the Joint Ventures of NPCIL with Public Sector Companies to Establish Nuclear Power Plants, Singh said that the government revised the Atomic Energy Act in 2015.
