BMW iX1 Electric SUV Set to Debut in India on September 28: Design, Features, and More

BMW India is gearing up to launch its first electric SUV, the iX1, in the Indian market on September 28, 2023. The iX1 will be imported using the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route and is poised to compete with rivals such as the Volvo XC40 Recharge, Volvo C40 Recharge, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6 in the electric SUV segment.

The iX1 will feature a distinctive design with blue accents on the front and rear bumpers, door sills, and headlights. Additionally, the electric X1 will showcase a larger kidney grille, inverted-L-shaped dual LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) within the headlights, eye-catching alloy wheels, and sleek LED taillights.

Design and Features of BMW iX1 :

The iX1 boasts a distinctive design, with prominent blue accents adorning the front and rear bumpers, door sills, and headlights. Furthermore, this electric X1 showcases a larger kidney grille, eye-catching inverted-L-shaped dual LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) within the headlights, stylish alloy wheels, and sleek LED taillights.

Inside the cabin, the iX1 offers a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also features an all-digital instrument cluster, the convenience of wireless charging, multi-zone climate control, and cruise control for an enhanced driving experience.

Performance of BMW iX1 :

Under the hood, the iX1 is equipped with a robust 64.7kWh battery pack powering a dual-motor setup. These motors are finely tuned to deliver a combined power output of 313bhp and a peak torque of 494Nm. The iX1 comes standard with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) capability, catapulting it from zero to 100kmph in a mere 5.3 seconds.

Additional information

The iX1 is the second all-electric model from BMW India, following the launch of the i4 sedan in February 2023. The iX1 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 60-70 lakh (ex-showroom).

The launch of the iX1 is a significant step for BMW India in its electrification journey. The company aims to launch at least five electric vehicles in India by 2025.
