Big Relief On Buying EV In UP, Subsidy Up To Rs 1 Lakh Will Be Available

The policy for electric vehicles in Uttar Pradesh has been approved. After this, now customers will get a huge subsidy for buying electric vehicles in Uttar Pradesh. Customers buying an electric car in the state will get a discount of up to Rs 1 lakh. Along with this, a 100% exemption from road tax and registration fee will be available on the purchase of all categories of electric vehicles during the first three years of the effective period of the new policy. If the electric vehicle is manufactured in the state, then this exemption will continue to be available in the fourth and fifth years also.

In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state's new Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy- 2022 was approved on Thursday. Under this, a huge subsidy will be given by the state government for the purchase of electric vehicles. Under this, the government has set a target of investing Rs 30,000 crore in the state, which will directly or indirectly provide employment to about 10 lakh people.

A subsidy of 15 percent will be given on the factory price of electric vehicles purchased in the state. Under this, a subsidy of up to Rs 5,000 per vehicle for the first two lakh electric two-wheelers, up to a maximum of Rs 12,000 for the first 50,000 electric three-wheelers, and up to Rs one lakh per vehicle for the first 25,000 electric four-wheelers will be given. At the same time, a subsidy of up to Rs 20 lakh per e-bus will be given on the first 400 buses purchased in the state. Also, a subsidy of 10 percent on the factory price will be given to a maximum of 1000 e-goods carriers for the purchase of e-goods carriers up to 1,00,000 per vehicle.
