News Synopsis

On Sunday, Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc holds its much-anticipated annual shareholder meeting for the first time since before the pandemic. In this yearly meeting, the stakeholders will have an extensive discussion on everything from corporate governance to potential new investments, and Buffett's views on the economy. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffet, and the Vice Chairman of the company Charlie Munger will answer all queries of stakeholders for around five hours when the meeting happens in Omaha, Nebraska. Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger will be joined by the  Vice-Chairmen Greg Abel, the designated successor of Warren Buffet as Chief Executive Officer, and Ajit Jain.

Recent Investments, a still-swollen cash pile, share buybacks, rising inflation and supply chain disruptions, and other issues might also be addressed at the annual meeting of Berkshire Hathaway. Some investors have started to increase pressure on the company, which spans businesses including insurance-to-energy-to-candy. Other than this, the largest U.S. public pension fund, Calpers, and other investors are demanding that Berkshire replace Buffett with an independent chair, and reveal how its multiple businesses encourage diversity and address climate risks and greenhouse gases
