News Synopsis

Bentley has revealed a teaser for its first fully electric vehicle (EV), an SUV set to launch in 2026. This marks a significant milestone for the luxury British brand as it enters the electric vehicle market.

"World’s First True Luxury Urban SUV"

Bentley has referred to its upcoming EV as the "world’s first true luxury urban SUV," highlighting its focus on blending sustainability with luxury. The new model will be the first of several electric vehicles (EVs) Bentley plans to release over the next decade, all part of the company's transition towards fully electric cars.

Bentley’s Commitment to Fully Electric Vehicles by 2035

Bentley has confirmed its intention to go fully electric by 2035, part of a broader strategy to decarbonize its lineup. The company is launching a new all-electric car every year for the next decade, marking a pivotal shift in its history.

CEO’s Vision: "Beyond100+" Strategy

Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, expressed that the company’s new "Beyond100+" strategy builds upon its original Beyond100 plan, reinforcing Bentley’s commitment to a carbon-neutral future while continuing to create extraordinary cars.

Hybrid Models Until 2035

Before fully transitioning to electric cars, Bentley will continue offering hybrid vehicles, with its Continental GT coupe, Convertible, and Flying Spur available exclusively with a new plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain until 2035.

End of the W12 Engine Era

In July 2024, Bentley marked the end of its iconic hand-built W12 engine with the production of the last models equipped with this engine. More than 100,000 W12s have been produced since its introduction in 2003, with the Bentayga, Continental GT, and Flying Spur being the final models to feature this engine.
