News Synopsis

German company Audi, the world's leading luxury carmaker, increased the prices of different models of its cars in India by 2.4 percent. The company has announced that this increase in car prices is a result of rising input and supply chain costs. This increase in the prices of Audi India cars will be effective from 20 September 2022. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head, Audi India, said, “At Audi India, we are committed to driving a sustainable business model. Due to rising input and supply chain costs, we have to choose between different models of our cars".

The need was felt to increase the prices by up to 2.4 percent. Audi India's existing range of cars includes the petrol-powered  Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8 L, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi Q8, Audi S5 Sportback includes Audi RS5 Sportback and Audi RS Q8. The portfolio of electric vehicles under the e-Tron brand, includes the Audi-e-Tron 50, Audi-e-Tron 55, Audi-e-Tron Sportback 55, and the first of the first electric supercars, Audi e-Tron GT and Audi RS e-Tron GT.

Audi India has recently started online bookings for its most loved model Audi Q3 in India. This year the prices of cars across all segments have been hiked. Every company has attributed the rising input cost to the rising input cost, while it is believed that the sales of the luxury car segment have been largely driven by price. The increase will not make any difference.
