News Synopsis

Armenia’s parliament has approved a new law in the country. The law allows the employer to fire the employees who do not have vaccination proof against Covid-19 and are also unable to provide a negative test result. The country has taken the decision seeing the very low rates of vaccination. It includes an order from the Ministry of Health under which the citizens need to provide a vaccination certification to their employer.

The law will not be applicable to the president, prime minister of the country, members of parliament or the national assembly, the ombudsman, judges of the Constitutional Court, and other officials of the country.

The vaccination campaign in Armenia began in April and was able to have only 516,989 citizens fully vaccinated by December 6.
