News Synopsis

At an American Apple Store, employees voted to form their own union. This is the first time in Apple's history that an employees' union is formed. After the union is formed, employees will be able to talk directly to the company about salary, working hours salary, and other matters related to them.

Employees' group AppleCORE, Coalition of Organized Retail Employees, campaigned for the union. According to the Federal Agency, that conducts the election, 65 of 110 employees of Maryland Store voted in favor and 33 against it. 12 employees did not vote.

After winning the vote,  AppleCORE tweeted, “We won our union vote. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard and supported us, now we celebrate. We are still together today and tomorrow we will be together like this.” After this election, Apple refused to say anything about this.

Let us tell you that this is the third Apple Store to run Union Drive this year, but the first store to be successful in getting a vote for Union. Other Apple Stores in Atlanta and New York have also moved to unionize. However, employees in Atlanta have pushed the vote forward, accusing the company of working against the union.
