Apple Showcases Various Charging Systems in latest patent

A patent published by the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) showcased various charging systems that can be used to power autonomous vehicles like cars, trucks, boats and more. 

The company is developing various charging systems keeping in mind the requirements of charging an electric vehicle. The patent also included the charging system that Apple can introduce with its electric car. The patent has On-board, Off-board charging and Solar charging. 

The On-Board charging system will be installed in the vehicles and will take less space, and weight than an off-board charger. The vehicle will be connected to the charger with a plug interface to the vehicle’s battery.

The Off-board charging system requires an alternating current circuit breaker panel, that can be installed at home to charge the vehicle. It requires large power and provides fast charging. In this charging system, an external battery can also be used to provide current in order to increase the charging rate.

The third and final charging system is Solar charging. In this solar cells will be used to power the vehicle. The method can be used to charge the battery of the vehicle during the blackouts. A charging interface is used to connect the charging modules to the battery of the vehicles.
