Apple is finally launching its own physical stores in India this year after a lengthy delay caused by the pandemic, and the company has reportedly begun hiring staff for retail stores at "various locations" throughout the country.

Apple is reportedly employing technological expertise, business experts, senior managers, store leaders, and "genius" for its retail operations in a nation that has supplied the iPhone maker with remarkable growth in recent years, according to a news agency.

According to the report, 12 retail positions are now available at "various locations" across the US, according to Apple's most recent job listings.

Numerous job postings mention flagship retail operations specifically. One such description says, "The Apple Store is a retail environment like no other — uniquely focused on delivering amazing customer experiences," 

At least five employees in Mumbai and New Delhi posted on LinkedIn that they had been hired for retail shop operations, according to the report.

Apple has not yet commented on the report. At least 100 people work at Apple, while flagship locations can have up to 1,000 people. A 22,000-square-foot Apple store is apparently going to open in Mumbai at the beginning of this year.

Apple CEO Tim Cook stated in January 2021 that the country's online store had had a thunderous response and that the company was prepared to open retail locations there in the future.

Cook had added, "We are also going in there with retail stores in the future and so we look to that to be another great initiative, and we continue to develop the channel as well, " The physical stores will undoubtedly aid Apple in providing a regulated experience of its products as it intended and created them to be in the country.

With a 40% market share in India's premium segment, Apple was in the first place, followed by Samsung and OnePlus, which in the third quarter of 2018 registered the biggest shipment share ever in the nation.

According to Counterpoint Research, Apple's 5% market share in India's smartphone market during the quarter was its best ever due to a significant channel push ahead of the festive season.

Data from the business intelligence platform Tofler shows that Apple India recorded a net profit of Rs 1,263 crore in the fiscal year, up 3% from the previous year on the back of strong sales growth of 45%.

Due to alluring deals and plans, previous generation models of Apple phones, such as the iPhone XR, 11, 12, and 13, are increasingly gaining popularity among individuals who cannot afford the more expensive new apple handsets in India.
