News Synopsis

Apple is requiring all of its employees to get vaccinated or to frequently submit coronavirus tests. According to an internal memo of the Verge, the company has made it efficient to get the primary series of covid vaccines along with the booster shot.

The company has also made it necessary to get the booster shots within four weeks of becoming eligible and to take rapid antigen tests before entering the workplace. It has also asked its employees to provide proof of vaccination or negative test result starting January 24.

Along with Apple, other US employers are also taking needed measures to deal with the rising cases of Omicron coronavirus variant. Apple has also pushed back its return-to-office plans for now along with major tech firms.

Meta has also announced last week that it will mandate for all the workers to get the booster shot once the US campuses are reopened. Amazon on the other hand is offering $40 to its employees if they get the booster.
