News Synopsis

Some iPhone users have found themselves in a predicament where the Apple Music iOS app started installing directly on the iPhone dock during download, instead of the home screen, resulting in the launching of other apps, including Spotify music streaming service.

The reports said the bug impacted iPhone models, kicking out other apps in the dock at the bottom of the iPhone and taking up their spot. Apple has said that it was looking into the issue. Some iPhone owners have also noticed that this bug caused Apple Music to have the Siri request as its default music service.

Kevin Archer, an iOS developer has said, “Seems like if you download the Apple Music app from the App Store it will automatically appear on your device dock changing any other 3rd party app with the music app. If on your dock, you only have Apple apps it would not do anything.”

Epic Games Founder and CEO Tim Sweeney in a tweet, “I just verified this. With Spotify installed and on the dock, installing Apple Music removed Spotify from the dock and put Apple Music in its place, without asking.”

He also said that it happens without Apple Music being run claiming that Apple has rigged its Operating System to do this. The Apple Music app also replaced all styles of apps that were in users’ docks, along with first-party apps like the built-in camera app.
