News Synopsis

Apple, like many other businesses, hires contract personnel for jobs like customer care and technical support.

According to sources, Apple Inc. fired a large number of its contract-based recruiters during the past week as part of an effort to cut back on the tech giant's recruiting and spending.  As per the people, who requested anonymity because the matter is confidential, the world's most valuable corporation let go of about 100 contract workers in an unusual action. The layoffs indicate that Apple's business is slowing down because the recruiters were in charge of acquiring new personnel. They were informed that the layoffs were necessary owing to changes in Apple's current business requirements.
