News Synopsis

On Tuesday, American Tech giant- Apple Incorporation has halted its sales of products in Russia amid the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Not only has Apple restricted its sales in Russia, but has also limited its digital services such as Apple pay and other services after Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine. Citing Apple’s statement, Russian News agency  Sputnik said: “We have paused all product sales in Russia. Last week, we stopped all exports into our sales channel in the country. Apple Pay and other services have been limited. RT News and Sputnik News are no longer available for download from the App Store outside Russia.” Prior to Apple, Other tech and social media companies such as Meta, Google, YouTube, etc have also limited their services in Russia. They also restricted the state-backed media of Russia to post their content outside Russia on their Platforms. Other than these global companies, governments of different countries have imposed heavy economic sanctions on Russia. Properties and assets of Russia and its billionaires are being seized. The United Kingdom has imposed a ban on Russian Banks to operate in their country and they have banned Russia from the international banking system, SWIFT. In a bid to settle things down, the second round of diplomatic talks is scheduled to be held today in Belarus between both nations.
