News Synopsis

Apple is working on an AR/VR headset. According to recent reports, the headset can be equipped with three displays. The display analyst Ross Young has claimed that the display configuration will have two micro OLED displays and one AMOLED panel. The micro OLED display is supplied by Sony to Apple. 

The AMOLED panel will be used for a low-resolution peripheral vision that will enable the foveated display system. The headset will also feature sensitive 3D sensing modules that will offer innovative hand tracking. 

The headset will be mainly used for gaming, media consumption and communication. It will be similar to the Oculus Quest, and some other prototypes that were being tested. The headset will also have 15 camera modules, eye tracking and iris recognition. The cost of the headset is assumed between $2,000 to $3,000.
