Apple Announces iOS 16 Update

At the ongoing Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple announced iOS 16, the latest version of its software that powers the company's iPhones. The iOS 16 update includes a number of enhancements and new features, including an improved lock screen, focus mode, Apple Pay Later, parental controls, health features, and more.

These are the iOS 16 eligible devices

• iPhone SE

• iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

• iPhone X and iPhone XR

• iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

• iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max

• iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max

The lock screen has been updated in iOS 16. It includes wallpapers with widget-like customizations. When selecting a lock screen widget, users will be able to select from a variety of typefaces and colour filters. Users will also be able to configure a photo shuffle, which will automatically change the lock screen photo throughout the day.

With the new update, Apple's Focus feature has also received an update. It is now simpler to set up and is linked to the lock screen. Swiping to the corresponding lock screen activates Focus.

Apple has released the iCloud Shared Photo Library, which enables families to easily share photos in a separate iCloud library. It allows up to six users to contribute to the library.
