Anant Maheshwari Elected As Nasscom Chairperson For 2023-24

Anant Maheshwari, President of Microsoft India, has been elected as the Chairperson of the National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) for 2023-24. He takes over from Krishnan Ramanujam, President - Business and Technology Services, Tata Consultancy Services. The announcement was made during Nasscom's Executive Council meeting held recently.

A Prominent Industry Leader to Drive India's Tech Landscape

Maheshwari's appointment as the Nasscom Chairperson for 2023-24 is significant as he is a prominent leader in the Indian technology industry. He has been associated with Microsoft for more than a decade and has played a pivotal role in driving the company's growth in India. Under his leadership, Microsoft India has been working on several key initiatives to drive digital transformation in the country, including the adoption of cloud-based technologies and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business outcomes.

Nasscom's Executive Council for 2023-25

Along with the announcement of Anant Maheshwari as the new Chairperson, Nasscom also announced its Executive Council for 2023-25. The Council includes a 1/3rd representation of women leaders, which is a significant step towards gender diversity in the technology industry.

Rajesh Nambiar, Chairperson and Managing Director of Cognizant India, has been named as the Vice Chairperson of Nasscom. Commenting on the appointment of Maheshwari and Nambiar, Debjani Ghosh, President of Nasscom, said, “As we are leapfrogging to the next era of digital evolution with emerging technologies and their disruptive potential, I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with Anant and Rajesh to continue establishing India as a global hotspot for tech innovation and talent.”

Maheshwari's Vision for Nasscom

He believes that India is now demonstrating broader technology leadership for the world, both in trusted innovation capabilities and also as a leading example of digital public platforms with billion population scale implementation.

Maheshwari also acknowledged Nasscom's history of navigating India's tech landscape across a broad set of stakeholders and multiple milestones, to drive inclusive growth with the foundation of a skills-based ecosystem.
