Amit Shah Unveils Digital Crime Management System and NIA Branches to Combat Terrorism & Crime

In a significant stride towards bolstering India's defense against terrorism and organized crime, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a groundbreaking Digital Criminal Case Management System (CCMS), crafted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi, through a virtual event on Thursday. This initiative marks a pivotal moment in the country's ongoing efforts to enhance security and streamline law enforcement operations.

Expanding on the Inauguration:

Alongside the CCMS launch, Home Minister Shah also inaugurated two new NIA branch offices located in Jammu and Kochi, along with a residential complex in Raipur. These additions signify the government's commitment to expanding the NIA's footprint and strengthening its capabilities in combating various criminal threats across different regions of the country.

Introducing the Sankalan App:

Additionally, Minister Shah unveiled the 'Sankalan' mobile app, developed by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), which serves as a comprehensive repository of new criminal laws. This app aims to bridge the gap between old and contemporary criminal legislation, providing valuable resources for legal professionals and law enforcement agencies.

Enhancing Coordination and Efficiency:

The newly launched CCMS promises to revolutionize the way NIA personnel handle terrorism and organized crime cases. By facilitating seamless coordination and information sharing, this digital platform is poised to enhance the efficacy and expediency of justice delivery, ensuring swift action against perpetrators.

Strengthening Operational Capabilities:

The inauguration of the two new NIA branch offices and the residential complex underscores the government's commitment to fortifying the agency's operational infrastructure. Empowering State Police Forces:

He urged State Director Generals of Police to embrace the CCMS and other advanced software tools to streamline data management and enhance operational effectiveness.

Minister Shah highlighted that the CCMS would facilitate closer collaboration between central and state law enforcement agencies, including Anti-Terror Squads (ATS), fostering a united front against criminal elements.
