Amazon to Open a Clothing Store, “Amazon Style”

The e-commerce company, Amazon will soon be opening a brick-and-mortar clothing store this year. The clothing store will be called Amazon Style and will be located in Los Angeles featuring a range of brands.

The managing director of Amazon Style, Simoina Vasen has said that the store will have everything from basic to designer clothing. She also said that the clothing store is trying to meet every budget and price point. 

The clothing store will rely on technology for its shopping experience. The products will be showcased in one size and colour on the shop floor and shoppers will be able to see more options related to the items on the Amazon app.

Customers will need to scan a QR code for an item and the item will be added to their fitting room, where they can request different styles and sizes and a store employee will drop off the requested items.

It would also allow customers to make payments through Amazon’s palm-scanning payment system, Amazon One. This is not the first time Amazon has invested in a physical store. It brought the supermarket chain Whole Foods in 2017 and opened its first cashier-less Amazon Go convenience store in 2018. Amazon has also recently begun expanding its own supermarket brand, Amazon Fresh.
