News Synopsis

Amazon workers who are not fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 will not be eligible for paid leave after March 18. The company said in its memo, which also included that the employees will no longer need to wear the masks inside the warehouse if they are fully vaccinated.

The company released its memo after several Democrat-governed US states announced they would be rolling back mask mandates, despite the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention continues to recommend masking indoors in most of the countries.

Amazon also re-introduced mask mandates insider its warehouse in December following a surge in cases caused by the Omicron variant. The company also reduced the number of times workers can take off for Covid-19 from ten to seven days following revised guidance from the CDC.
