News Synopsis

Amazon India is gearing up for what it expects to be its largest Prime Day event so far. Scheduled from July 12 to 14, 2025, this year’s Prime Day will span 72 hours — the first time the sale extends over three full days in the country. The e-commerce giant is confident of setting new sales records during this highly anticipated shopping festival.

Company Expects Record Sales in 2025

Speaking about the upcoming sale, Akshay Sahi, Director of Prime, Delivery and Returns (India and Emerging Markets), said,

“We expect this to be the biggest Prime Day in our history. The entire organisation is super excited. We’re wrapping up preparations. Our sellers are excited and we’re inbounding all the inventory.”

The company aims to achieve its highest sales ever, driven by new launches, faster deliveries, and attractive deals.

Over 400 New Product Launches Lined Up

One of the highlights of Prime Day 2025 will be the launch of new products from over 400 brands. Amazon India is focusing on bringing exclusive releases and deals for its Prime members. Customers can expect a wide range of products across categories such as electronics, fashion, home appliances, and more.

Faster Deliveries a Top Priority

As consumer demand for quick commerce grows, Amazon India is prioritising faster delivery timelines during this year’s Prime Day. The company plans to deliver orders faster than ever before.

Sahi added,

“We hope that this Prime Day we can continue pushing the bar and deliver our orders the fastest ever to all our members.”

Currently, Amazon offers same-day and next-day delivery options for Prime customers in several locations. The company’s focus this year is on expanding these rapid delivery services to more regions across India.

Amazon’s ₹2,000 Crore Investment to Boost Infrastructure

To support its Prime Day goals, Amazon India recently announced a significant investment of around ₹2,000 crore. This funding will go towards expanding the company’s fulfilment centres and further reducing delivery times.

The investment reflects Amazon’s commitment to strengthening its logistics network and enhancing the customer experience in India’s fast-growing e-commerce market.

Prime Membership Designed for All Customer Segments

Amazon’s Prime membership strategy in India is aimed at serving a broad spectrum of customers, not just affluent buyers. The company has adopted tiered pricing to ensure inclusivity across socio-economic segments.

Sahi explained,

“The reason we did that was because we realized we don’t want to serve just a few million customers who are the rich, but of all the different socio-economic classes which are there in India.”

This approach has helped Amazon reach a wider audience and improve customer loyalty. While specific Prime subscription numbers were not disclosed, Sahi indicated that the tiering model has been successful for the company.

Prime Day 2025: Ninth Edition of the Sale in India

The upcoming sale will be Amazon India’s ninth Prime Day since the event’s introduction in the country. Over the years, Prime Day has grown into one of the most awaited shopping festivals for millions of customers across India, offering exclusive deals, early access, and speedy deliveries.

With enhanced logistics, expanded inventory, and exclusive launches, Prime Day 2025 promises to be a game-changer for both Amazon and its shoppers.
