News Synopsis

E-commerce giant Amazon and digital payment services company Visa have come to a global agreement. Amazon will now accept Visa credit cards across all its websites. This agreement came after Amazon warned Visa to stop its credit card services on its platform because of the fee it was charging on every transaction in the United Kingdom. Amazon’s customers in Australia and Singapore also had to pay a  transaction fee if they used their Visa credit card for payments. After the agreement, Amazon in a statement said: "We've recently reached a global agreement with Visa that allows all customers to continue using their Visa credit cards in our stores”. Visa also said: "This agreement includes the acceptance of Visa at all Amazon stores and sites today, as well as a joint commitment to collaboration on new product and technology initiatives to ensure innovative payment experiences for our customers in the future”.
