India's leading telecom companies Airtel and Reliance Jio have seen an increase in the number of subscribers. Telecom Regulator TRAI has told in its monthly report on Thursday that the total number of customers of Airtel and Reliance Jio has increased to more than 116.69 crores in March 2022. 

Airtel and Reliance Jio also added new customers in the fixed-line service segment along with mobile telephony in March. According to PTI, TRAI's subscriber report in March said that 'the number of telephone subscribers in India increased from 1,166.05 million at the end of February 2022 to 1,166.93 million at the end of March 2022'. 

According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) report, between March and February, urban telephone subscriptions declined from 64.77 crores to 64.71 crores and rural subscriptions increased from 51.82 crores to 51.98 crores. . According to the report, the total number of wireless subscribers increased to 1,142 million in March, from 114.15 million in February.
