In a boost to the green energy sector in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has approved pump storage projects with a total capacity of 3,700 MW proposed by Adani Green Energy. The project was approved at a review meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has approved an investment of Rs 15,740 crore by Adani Group in the state of Andhra Pradesh, part of a total investment of Rs 60,000 crore discussed recently at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos. The project will create 10,000 jobs in four Andhra Pradesh districts.

Adani Group has proposed pump storage projects in four districts across the state, including two in Parvathi Puram, one in YSR Kadapa, and one in Satya Sai. In Parvathi Puram, a 1200 MW plant in Kurukutti and a 1000 MW plant in Karrivalasa will be built.

Meanwhile, a 1000 MW plant will be built in Gandikota, and a 500 MW plant will be built in Chitravathi. Adani Group has proposed creating 3,000 jobs in Kurukutti, 3000 in Karrivalasa, 1500 in Chitravathi, and 2500 in Gandikota in each of these districts.
