News Synopsis

In a grand unveiling that spanned continents, Volkswagen has unveiled the 2024 Tiguan—a next-generation masterpiece that promises to elevate the brand's legacy.

With over 76 lakh units sold worldwide since its debut in 2007, the Tiguan has been Volkswagen's best-selling model since 2018. The third iteration of this premium mid-size SUV is all set to roll out from Volkswagen's Wolfsburg facility later this year.

A Global Arrival:

While the Tiguan is born in Wolfsburg, its global journey begins in Europe, where it will make its debut in early 2024. Following its European launch, the Tiguan will venture across the Atlantic to capture the hearts of American consumers.

The 2024 Tiguan is poised to make waves with its fresh design, expanded features, and the introduction of a new plug-in hybrid engine option. It's all built on Volkswagen's revamped MQB 'evo' platform.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan: Design and Dimensions:

The new-gen Tiguan gets a new design, more features, and a new plug-in hybrid engine option. It is based on the brand’s updated MQB ‘evo’ platform.

  • Compared to the boxy profile of the outgoing model, the third-gen Tiguan gets a slightly curvy profile which has helped VW achieve a lower drag coefficient of 0.28 Cd (down from 0.33 Cd).

  • Other notable visual highlights include new dual-tone alloy wheels, more pronounced haunches, and a full-width LED taillight.

  • In terms of dimensions, the new third-gen Tiguan measures 4539 mm in length, 1639 mm in height, and 1842 mm in width along with a wheelbase of 2680mm. This makes it 4mm taller and 30mm longer than the outgoing model. Further, boot space has increased by 37 litres to 652 litres.
