News Synopsis

On Friday, the Video chat platform Zoom

announced that it is acquiring Solvvy. Solvvy is a conversational AI and automation platform for customer support. However, Zoom didn’t disclose the amount at which it acquired Solvvy. A few days back, Zoom also launched its Zoom Contact Centre. Further, the company informed that this deal will assist them to redefine the contact center category with unified communications. 

After the deal, the President of Product and Engineering at Zoom Video Communications, Velchamy Sankarlingam said,  "With the addition of Solvvy's differentiated AI and machine learning technology, we'll be able to accelerate our contact center roadmap to create a concierge-level experience for customers worldwide. We also have a shared passion for leveraging best-in-class modern technology solutions to enhance human experiences.” 

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the demand for Zoom surged exponentially as companies shut offices and employees had to work from home. Remote learning and telemedicine also provided a boost to Zoom Video's cloud-based services. Zoom is now undergoing a year of transition in 2022.
