News Synopsis

After a brief suspension, Singapore-based B2B fashion firm Zilingo has fired its chief executive officer (CEO), Ankiti Bose. Following an independent forensic examination examining allegations of major financial irregularities on Bose's part, the decision was made. "Following an investigation led by an independent forensics firm that was commissioned to look into complaints of serious financial irregularities, the company has decided to terminate Ankiti Bose's employment with cause, and reserves the right to pursue appropriate legal action," Zilingo said in a statement.

The eight-year-old company made no mention of the claims against Bose or the independent audit's findings. Bose, on the other hand, claims that she was fired due to "insubordination." Zilingo has been handled by Ankiti Bose and Dhruv Kapoor since 2015. At the age of 23, she quit her job as an investment analyst at Sequoia Capital to start her own firm, Zilingo, and relocated to Singapore a year later.

Due to irregularities in the company's accounting, she was suspended on March 31. Bose even denied the claims and challenged her ban. She claimed that the business's actions are the result of a 'witch-hunt' sparked by harassment allegations she filed against a company investor.

On May 20, Zilingo addressed these allegations and dismissed Bose's claim for her harassment complaint, which had been suspended. According to the company, "On April 11th, following her suspension on March 31, Ankiti Bose brought to the board's attention, for the first time, several harassment-related issues relating to previous time periods, which did not contain any harassment complaints against investors or their nominees."
