YouTube's growing ecosystem of content creators has brought significant economic value to the Indian market and contributed 6,800 Cr to the GDP of India along with supporting 6.83 lakh full-time equivalent jobs in 2020.

Ajay Vidyasagar, Regional Director of APAC, YouTube Partnerships has said that the creator economy in India has the potential to emerge as a soft power that can impact economic growth, job creation and even cultural influence.

According to the research of Oxford Economics, Youtube fosters a significant impact for Indian creators in terms of helping them with their professional goals and growing their businesses.

In addition to the revenue generated by YouTube, the presence of creators on the platform helps to get global followers, push boundaries, explore multiple sources of revenue through brand partnerships, live performances and more. In India, more than 80% of creative entrepreneurs say the platform has had a positive impact on their career orientation.

Almost 92% of the small and medium businesses with a YouTube channel agreed that it helps them to reach new audiences across the world. Ajay Vidyasagar also said that the impact of the overall success of the economy will continue to accelerate as creators and artists build the next generation of media companies that are connecting with a global audience.
