World Bank And Asian Development Bank Launches ‘WePOWER’

World Bank and Asian Development Bank has launched the WePOWER in a virtual meeting held on November 9, 2021. The programme is launched to scale up the Women in Power Sector Professional Network in India. There is a great demand for human resources in the energy sector and in order to fulfill this demand, the programme aims at talented, professional, and skilled women. 

This initiative will lead to gender equality in the Electricity Sector of India and will promote the sectors like Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education for girls. WePOWER has received positive feedback from the professionals. The sector is planning to take further steps to promote WePOWER and the participation of women in the power and energy sector.
