News Synopsis

Later this year, WhatsApp, one of the most popular instant messaging apps, will cease to function for iPhones running iOS 10 and 11, as well as the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. Only iOS 12 and subsequent versions will support WhatsApp, according to a screenshot given by WABetaInfo and an article published by WhatsApp Help Center.

If you're using WhatsApp on iOS 10 or 11, you'll need to upgrade to iOS 12 to keep utilising it. On iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6s, you can still use WhatsApp, but you'll need to update to the latest version of iOS. If you have an Android phone, you must have OS 4.1 or higher to use WhatsApp.

Unfortunately, WhatsApp will no longer be available for iPhone 5 and 5C due to iOS 12's incompatibility.

We are a few weeks away from WWDC 2022, and Apple is expected to announce iOS 16. According to rumours, iOS 16 will no longer work on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Recently, WhatsApp has released a bunch of new features and working on a handful of updates.

Emoji reactions have been included, and the company is working on providing rich link previews to status updates. The rich links feature will provide viewers with more information about the link. Some of the capabilities are presently being tested on the iOS app and will be accessible in future releases for Android and desktop users as well.
