News Synopsis

After introducing the emoji reactions, Meta-owned WhatsApp is reported to add an option to hide the last viewed status from a particular contact. According to WABetaInfo, in the latest beta version of the iOS app, WhatsApp has added an option to users to block certain users from viewing the status of their "Last Seen".

For some time, WhatsApp could only limit who could see their status on their contacts. You can turn this feature off altogether, but it does not prevent certain people from seeing this information.

However, WhatsApp iOS Beta version 22.9.0.70 adds a new option, exclude contacts, to the recent section of your app's privacy settings. According to WABetaInfo, if you add a person to this list, that person's status will also disappear.

The outlet said WhatsApp also implements finer-grained privacy management for both profile photos and sections. This feature is currently in beta testing on both Android and iOS, and it won't be long before it's officially available on WhatsApp, the report said.
