Whats App Will Now Be Able To Restore Deleted Messages

In a future upgrade, Meta-owned WhatsApp is said to be working on the ability to restore deleted texts. According to WaBetaInfo, the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.13.5 update includes a feature that allows users to restore accidentally deleted messages. There is, however, a catch to this functionality. 

To begin with, users will have only a few seconds to recover deleted communications. Furthermore, the ability will only operate in one-on-one chats for the 'remove for me' option. It will not function for erased messages for all. WaBetaInfo published a screenshot in its report showing users seeing a snackbar when an attempt to delete a message for you is identified. In this instance, WhatsApp users "will have a few seconds to recover the message if you click the Recover button." 

Clearly, the functionality is in the works and will be released with a future version. It is currently available for beta testing on the platform's Android app. Meanwhile, WhatsApp has introduced a new Windows client, which eliminates the need for WhatsApp desktop users to connect their laptop to their primary smartphone in order to send, receive, and sync messages. According to WhatsApp, the new native app would provide 'improved reliability and speed.' It is created and optimized for your desktop operating system, according to the company. Users will be able to receive notifications and messages even when their phone is turned off.

The new desktop version is now ready for download on Windows, according to an updated FAQ page. It is available for download from the Microsoft App Store. In terms of UI and design, the new app has a cleaner layout and appears nearly identical to the previous version. The app's only significant change is that users will no longer be required to keep their phone linked to the internet in order to get WhatsApp notifications and messages. The WhatsApp desktop version for Mac operating systems is currently in development.
