Volvo Introduces XC40 Recharge Single Motor Variant at Rs 54.95 Lakh

Volvo has introduced the XC40 Recharge, a new model that features a single motor attached to the back axle. The variation, which is officially known as the E60, is referred to as the "Plus" on the Volvo India website and costs Rs 54.95 lakh, ex-showroom, in India.

The dual-motor, AWD XC40 Recharge E80 (Ultimate), which costs Rs 57.9 lakh, ex-showroom, India, is priced above it.

Features of Volvo XC40 Recharge E60 single motor

The E60 single-motor variation is the entry-level model, hence it lacks some amenities like the 360-degree camera, fog lamps, Pixel LED headlamps, and a Harman Kardon sound system that are available on the dual-motor edition.

Having said that, the E60 version comes equipped with amenities like a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, wireless phone charging, TPMS, park assist, a 12-inch digital driver's display, a 9-inch infotainment unit, and an 8-speaker sound system, to mention a few.

Given that it is a Volvo, a plethora of safety features are included, including seven airbags and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that incorporates lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, cross-traffic alerts, and rear collision warning.

Battery, range, and single motor powertrain of the Volvo XC40 Recharge E60

There is just one motor installed on the rear axle of the Volvo XC40 Recharge E60. With a peak speed of only 180 kph, the SUV can reach 100 kph in 7.3 seconds thanks to its 238 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque.

With a WLTP range of 475 kilometers, the 69kWh Lithium-Ion battery pack is included with the single motor option.

Competition for the Volvo XC40 Recharge E60 single motor

The Volvo XC40 Recharge E60 single motor competes with other RWD EVs, including the recently released BYD Seal Dynamic (Rs 41 lakh) and Premium (Rs 45.55 lakh), the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Rs 45.95 lakh), and the Kia EV6 GT Line (Rs 60.95 lakh).
