German automaker Volkswagen made the world premiere of its all-new Volkswagen ID.Aero electric sedan in China. The car will be family flagship electric vehicle in the German carmaker's ID global portfolio.

Volkswagen says about this that its first fully electric Sedan will be positioned in the premium mid-size segment. Additionally, the production version of ID. Aero for the Chinese markets is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2023. The upcoming Volkswagen ID.Aero will get a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery will offer a WLTP-certified range of 620 kms on a full charge.

When launched, this electric sedan will be seen competing against cars like BMW i4, Tesla Model 3. Talking about its features, the concept version of ID. Aero is about five meters long and the company claims that its design is based on aerodynamic principles. "With the ID.AERO show car we are revealing a preview of the next member of the ID family," says Ralph Brandstadter, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

He further said, “Car with an emotional as well as highly aerodynamic design, a range of over 600 kms, spacious space and premium interiors. With our accelerated strategy, we are vigorously pursuing the electrification of our model range. This model will be our next global car for Europe, China and America after ID.4."
