Virgin Galactic to Open Ticket Sales for Commercial Space Flights

Virgin Galactic has announced that the company is opening the commercial sales for its next space flight. The cost of the space ticket is $450,000 for 90 minutes flight with an initial deposit of $150,000. The tickets are available for sale on the official website of the company.

The company also announced rebranding by replacing its former logo, the iris of Sir Richard Branson with a purple illustration of its spacecraft. The flight will launch from New Mexico. The cost of the ticket and the whole process includes several days of astronaut training along with custom accommodations and world-class amenities.

Shares of Virgin Galactic also jumped over 10% after falling 85% over the past year. The announcement represents a significant step for the company that has repeatedly delayed the launch of the commercial space flights since initially planning to begin flying customers into space in 2020.
