Urban Company Claims that Average Payout Increased to Rs297 per hour

News Synopsis

Urban Company has claimed in its latest report that the company professionals have earned at least Rs38,263 per month and the average payout of the employees has increased 11% in the third quarter. The company said that almost 50% of service professionals associated with the company, who worked more than 100 hours per month have earned Rs30,455 per month.

It also claims that the average payout increased to Rs297 per hour with the hourly earnings for females listing at Rs312 per hour. The report also included a third party benchmarking study of PGA Labs that said the company partners on average make about 50%.

More than 100 female employees protested against the company demanding better working conditions and a fair wage mechanism. Urban Company claims to have met all the demands of the employees. But the company has still lost its rank in the FairWork Index of 2021 to Flipkart.

The FairWork India Rating 2021 report judges different digital companies based on their treatment of gig workers including companies like Flipkart, Uber, Zomato, Ola and Swiggy.
