UPI Transactions Remain Above Rs 10 Lakh Crore in June

News Synopsis

For the second month in a row, UPI-enabled Digital Transactions exceeded Rs 10 lakh crore in June, according to NPCI data released on Friday. However, it was nearly 3% lower than the previous month.
According to National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) data, the transaction value under Unified Payments Interface (or BHIM UPI) digital payments in June 2022 was Rs 10,14,384 crore, a 2.6 percent decrease from the previous month.During the month, UPI-led payments accounted for a total of 5.86 billion transactions.

UPI transactions were valued at Rs 10,41,506 crore in May 2022, with a total of 5.95 billion transactions. In April, the UPI transactions were worth Rs 9,83,302 crore through a total of 5.58 billion transactions.

In the last few years, there has been a rapid increase in Digital Transactions in India. At present, now digital payment is at a record level. Most people are preferring to pay from Mobile Wallets only. Recently it was announced that Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and RuPay cards will soon be accepted in France. Indian Ambassador to France Jawed Ashraf informed that India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and RuPay cards will soon be accepted in France.
