News Synopsis

Lately, fuel prices are on the rise in India. Alternative options for Petrol and diesel are being explored. In this regard, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari is regularly promoting hydro-powered cars. Today, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari arrived in Parliament in a green hydrogen-powered car- Toyota Mirai, which is also the first hydrogen-powered car in India. Under the pilot project, the minister traveled in a car from his residence to the Parliament. Usually, an average car gives a mileage of 20 km in 1 liter of petrol which brings the cost per kilometer to around Rs 5 per km. If we talk about this car that runs on hydrogen, the running cost is being claimed at Rs 2 per km. In such a situation, the fuel cost of a hydrogen car can be three times less than that of petrol. According to the news agency, Minister Nitin Gadkari has been seen sitting in the front seat of the car next to the driver on his way to Parliament House, where a white colored car has a green number plate. This type of number plate is also used in electric vehicles.
