News Synopsis

The Central Bureau of Narcotics' Unified Portal, which will improve efficiency and transparency and reduce the time it takes for the pharmaceutical business to get a trade license, was launched by Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra on Tuesday.

There have been Vivek Aggarwal Additional Secretary, Dinesh Kumar Bouddh Narcotics Commissioner, Anil Ramteke Chief Controller of Factories, Vinod Kumar Director and representatives from the Pharmaceutical Businesses.

In the time of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav," the Central Bureau of Narcotics has taken steps to promote the vision of Digital India by developing and launching the unified site as a one-stop solution for the user industry to streamline the license and ExIM authorizations provided by the Bureau.

With the dual goals of meeting the needs of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries for synergistic growth of the drugs & pharma sector and boosting the economy for "Aatma Nirbhar Bharat," the Central Bureau of Narcotics' unified portal will inculcate efficiency, transparency, and accountability in department users and ensure availability of "essential narcotic drugs" and medicines to patients and their associated families.

The launch of the Central Bureau of Narcotics' Unified Portal will be a significant step towards making it simpler and more legal for businesses to deal with the NDPS and controlled drugs in the nation.

In order to provide single-point services for getting licenses from CBN, this site is geared to have database integration and ingestion with other government services including Bharat Kosh, GST, PAN-NSDL Validation, E-Sanchit, and UIDAI.

"The exporter, importer, and manufacturer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and controlled substances are expected to benefit in a way and ecosystem that supports and harbors user-friendly, secure transactions, cloud-based storage, and simplified application forms for a wide range of licensing, such as import certificates, export authorizations, no objection certificates for various NDPS and controlled substances, manufacturing licensing, and quota allocation."

"It is important to keep in mind that all transactions will be faceless and contactless. Without the requirement for in-person communication, candidates can submit applications round-the-clock from anywhere and at any time, and they can ask the department questions that will get an online response. This would greatly reduce "Processing Time" and free up resources for other profitable company ventures "That was an ad.

A central government department named the Central Bureau of Narcotics Oversees International Commerce in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and Precursor Chemicals in line with a number of UN conventions and the NDPS Act of 1985. These substances have had the potential to be used both legally for medical, scientific, and industrial purposes as well as being a source of misuse through illicit usage.

"Thus, it's important to strike a delicate balance between making these chemicals accessible to the public and upholding the law in this area. In order to conceptualize and preserve a balance between facilitation and compliance management in the face of these challenges, the Bureau must implement a digital platform "The statement continued to say.
