UK Law enforcement seized $435 Million worth of Crypto in last five years

A report from New Scientist revealed that the UK law enforcement has seized 4435 million worth of cryptocurrency in the last five years. The New Scientist found out about this information after it submitted the Freedom of Information request to the departments in order to obtain the data.

Most of the digital assets were seized by the London Metropolitan Police amounting to £114 million worth of cryptocurrency, and Greater Manchester Police seized £25 million. 

The seized cryptocurrency or digital assets included 99.9% of bitcoin, it also included ethereum, monero, dash and zcash. The UK law enforcement seized the digital assets as these are very popular among criminals due to difficulties tracing accounts and holders of the assets.
