UAE Introduces AI Education from Kindergarten Level

The United Arab Emirates is taking a pioneering leap in education by introducing artificial intelligence (AI) as a mandatory subject across all government schools starting from the next academic year. This decision places the UAE among the global frontrunners in adapting education systems to meet the demands of an increasingly digital and AI-driven future.

The initiative was officially announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. “Our responsibility is to equip our children for a time unlike ours, with conditions different from ours, and with new skills and capabilities that ensure the continued momentum of development and progress in our nation for decades to come,” Sheikh Mohammed remarked.

AI Curriculum Spanning Kindergarten to Grade 12

This comprehensive AI curriculum will be implemented from Kindergarten through Grade 12, making the UAE one of the first countries in the world to embed artificial intelligence education at such an early and consistent level. The Ministry of Education has carefully crafted the curriculum to ensure it addresses both technical competencies and ethical implications of AI.
