News Synopsis

Twitter has enabled its long-awaited feature, the hexagonal profile pictures for the NFT holders. The feature will allow the paid subscribers of Twitter Blue to set NFTs as their profile pictures. Twitter Blue is a premium subscription of Twitter that costs $2.99 per month and was launched in June 2021. Twitter will verify if the user owns an NFT and the NFT avatar will be framed with a hexagon.

The new feature is welcomed by most of the users on the platform whereas many believe that the feature is unnecessary. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has also shared his opinion on the new feature saying that it is annoying and there are issues with the allocation of resources.

The feature is still an experimental feature and can be enabled by those who are interested. A user needs to connect a supported crypto wallet to Twitter and will not display the profile picture once the NFT is sold. The hexagonal profile picture frame is also taken as the next blue tick in Twitter prestige.
