News Synopsis

Last month, the Chief Executive Officer of Tesla, Elon Musk acquired the leading social media company, Twitter for a whopping $44 billion. The Billionaire, matching his original offer, will pay $54.20 per share for Twitter amounting to $44 billion. When the deal is completed, Twitter will become a privately held company once again.

After the takeover of Twitter, Musk is reportedly going to be the interim CEO of the company. Further, on Friday, Elon Musk stated four important areas that the company "will be super focused on" should the acquisition go through. These four areas are, "hardcore software engineering, design, infosec [information security] & server hardware.” He also intends to make some managerial changes. In a tweet, he said, "I strongly believe that all managers in a technical area must be technically excellent. Managers in software must write great software or it's like being a cavalry captain who can't ride a horse!"

Other than this, while announcing the acquisition, Musk stated, "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated. I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spambots, and authenticating all humans."
