News Synopsis

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has revised the pricing of select variants in its Innova Hycross lineup. While some entry-level trims retain their current pricing, mid and top-tier variants have seen a price hike. The update comes shortly after a similar revision was made to the Toyota Taisor.

Price Hike Across Variants

The entry-level GX variants of the Toyota Innova Hycross, available in both 7-seater and 8-seater configurations, continue to be priced at ₹19.94 lakh and ₹19.99 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). However, the GX(O) variants—available in both 7S and 8S options—have received a price hike of ₹11,000.

Additionally, the hybrid-powered VX, VX(O), ZX, and ZX(O) variants, across both 7- and 8-seater configurations, are now costlier by ₹15,000 each. As a result, the updated price range for the Innova Hycross now spans from ₹19.94 lakh to ₹31.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Powertrain Options: Petrol and Strong Hybrid

The Toyota Innova Hycross comes with two engine options catering to different user preferences:

2.0L Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine

This variant is equipped with a 2.0-litre NA petrol engine paired with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). It delivers 173 bhp and 209 Nm of torque. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 16.13 km/l for this version, making it a suitable choice for those prioritizing budget and reliability.

2.0L Strong Hybrid Engine

The second option is a more advanced 2.0-litre strong hybrid powertrain paired with an e-CVT. This setup generates a combined power output of 183 bhp—188 Nm from the petrol motor and 206 Nm from the electric motor. Toyota claims this variant returns an impressive mileage of 23.24 km/l, making it ideal for long-distance and city commuters alike.

5-Star BNCAP Safety Rating

The Toyota Innova Hycross recently became the first MPV to be crash-tested under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), and it received an impressive 5-star safety rating.

Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)

The Hycross scored 30.47 out of 32 in the AOP category. It received 14.47 out of 16 in the frontal offset test with 'good' protection for the head, thighs, and feet. The chest and left shin were marked as 'adequate'. In the side mobile barrier impact test, the MPV scored a perfect 16/16 with ‘good’ ratings across all key areas. The side pole impact test received an ‘OK’ rating.

Child Occupant Protection (COP)

For child safety, the Hycross scored 45 out of 49 points. This included a perfect 24/24 in dynamic child safety tests, with ISOFIX anchorages and recommended child restraint systems contributing to the score. The remaining 21 points were awarded based on structural integrity and the presence of essential safety assist features.
