Amazon India announced the winners of its Amazon Global Selling Propel Startup accelerator Season 2. Among the 1,000 applicants, Solethreads and EcoRight were selected. Amazon will award a total of $100,000 to the three winners for global expansion. Solethreads was the winner, with Ecoright and GoDesi close behind. Solethreads, a Delhi-based startup that sells flip-flops and shoes in casual wear across India, was founded in 2019.

"In the last couple of months, we got many opportunities to interact with industry stalwarts, VCs and peers. We learnt about the nuances of building a global business, serving global customers with varying preferences, benefits of going directly to customers worldwide and more. This is just a start for us," Vikram Iyer (co-founder of Solethreads) said,

EcoRight, a startup based in Ahmedabad, sells sustainable bags and has 90% of women working as factory workers. The second prize was won by the company in the Amazon Global Selling Propel Startup Accelerator, Delhi. GoDesi is your one-stop shop for candies and other sweets mithais, The accelerator program's third recipient was he.

"India is the third largest hub of the startup ecosystem with over 75,000 companies. Out of these, 57% are conceived in tier 2 and 3 cities,". Deepak Bagal (Managing Director and CEO, Invest India), spoke at the event. Bagal added that 60% of eCommerce startups have at least one woman director.

The program was applied to more than 1000 startups and emerging brands. The top 15 finalists were chosen from these applicants, including Almo and Avishkaar as well as EcoRight, Eske and Shumee.

The Amazon Global Selling Propel accelerator programme was launched in January 2021. It is intended to assist early-stage companies in the consumer goods space in expanding globally and becoming international brands.
