News Synopsis

Electric vehicle giant Tesla has officially received environmental approval to start production at Berlin's Gigafactory, but there are some warnings that still prevent it from officially starting production.

According to reports, Tesla is expected to receive the final environmental approval to start its production at Gigafactory Berlin, later this week. The approval to start production faced many oppositions with concerns ranging from deforestation to water supply and more.

Several setbacks prevented the company from securing approval, which is also believed to be the last regulatory step required to start the production. Details released along with a 536-page conditional building permit, there are around 400 conditions that Tesla needs to fulfil to start production at the Gigafactory.

Tesla plans to cover all the conditions within the next two weeks. Both Tesla and German officials do not seem to think that the start of the production should be delayed anymore. The documents reveal that Tesla is approved to produce 500,000 electric vehicles every year at Gigafactory. Tesla has already hired 3,000 workers at the plant.
