News Synopsis

Tesla has broken the estimates of the Wall Street Journal by delivering a record number of vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2021. The company produced 305,840 vehicles and delivered 308,600, breaking its own record of the third quarter in 2021. Total deliveries for the whole year are 936,172.

According to the data from FactSet, Wall Street Journal has estimated that the company would deliver 267,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2021 and 897,000 for the whole of 2021.

Tesla said in its report that their deliveries should be counted as slightly conservative as the car is counted as delivered only after it is transferred to the customer and all the paperwork is completed.

The CEO of Tesla also congratulated the Tesla team with a tweet by appreciating their work. Tesla managed to keep the productions and deliveries on track even after the global chip shortage, tariffs and critical manufacturing components, and disturbed supply chain all around the world.

Elon Musk has also said that he wants to increase the sales volume of Tesla and take it to 20 million annually in the next nine years. It also expects to start the production at Tesla’s German Gigafactory and Tesla Giga Austin this year.
