Tesla’s CEO says Netflix is losing Subscribers because 'the woke mind virus' is making it 'unwatchable'

The Chief Executive Officer of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk took a dig at the online streaming giant, Netflix on Tuesday night after the OTT platform informed that it had lost subscribers for the first time in over a decade. Musk while responding to an article on Netflix's shares plummeting 20%, tweeted, "The woke mind virus is making Netflix unwatchable.” On Wednesday, OTT platform’s shares witnessed their worst day in the past ten years as the stock declined 32% to an intraday low of $226.50. The company in a letter to shareholders on Tuesday, informed that it could lose two million subscribers next year.

Netflix claimed several issues that had negatively impacted the growth of the company. These included mass password sharing and increased competition from other streaming rivals. Elon Musk further commented on the issue, agreeing with a Twitter user who said the "Woke mind virus is the biggest threat to civilization," as well as another user who said it has impacted the media in general. Musk commented, "Come on, man, that's crazy. Do we want a humorless society that is simply rife with condemnation and hate basically? At its heart, wokeness is divisive, exclusionary, and hateful. It basically gives mean people a shield to be mean and cruel, armored in false virtue."
